Science in the Mirror of Civilization (part 2)_ by محمد وائل دعبول .. The human being, created by God, possesses a pristine nature that enables him to explore the vast world placed before him, equipped with the keys bestowed upon him by the Divine. These keys, known as the five senses, along with the exceptional gift of reason, set man apart and elevate him above all other creatures on Earth. Through the utilization of these senses, an individual can delve into the depths of the universe and gather a plethora of information about his surroundings. This information, acquired at every juncture of one's life, is securely stored within the memory centers of nerve cells within the brain. By virtue of the mind, a divine endowment, man processes this gathered information to ultimately form a comprehensive and accurate perception of the magnificent world that envelops him. This cognitive perception, in essence, represents the realization and attainment of scientific knowledge through this cognitive process. The more sound and pure instinctive one's faculties are, the more precise and lucid the resulting perception becomes, leading to an overwhelming sense of awe towards the Noble Creator and His splendid creation, thereby instilling within man a profound gratitude for His blessings and favors. However, if one's nature becomes deviated or the mind strays from its intended course, the resultant perception is inevitably affected, its extent directly correlated to the depth of the deviation in either of these aspects. Consequently, this deviation manifests as impaired insight, the severity of which increases in proportion to the intensity of the deviation. The central focus of this book revolves around the fundamental question concerning science and its nature, as addressed in the aforementioned titles. The entirety of this proposal will be presented and analyzed through chapters derived from lectures delivered by Judge Philip Johnson over the course of a decade in American and British universities. These lectures facilitated a rigorous and objective examination of the true essence of science, while also subjecting the definition put forth by the National Academy and its implications to critique. This critique exposed the fallacious data resulting from such definition.
